Thank
You
On
21st August, the Lifeboat station in Skerries celebrated
its 100 years aggregated service. Whilst the weather
may not have been at its best, it didn’t in
anyway detract from a great day. The presentation
of the Award on Vellum at St Patricks Church went
well and we’d like to thank the Choir on the
day for making it special.
Following
the Church Ceremony, the crew marched back to the
Station where a crowd of upwards of 200 gathered.
The lifeboat was blessed and put to sea for the laying
of a wreath.
Following
gallons of tea and coffee and tons of cakes and biscuits
everyone went home happy. There are so many people
to thank, but in particular the crew and committee
would like to make special mention to the most Reverend
Clergy who officiated the ceremony in St Patricks
Church, to the ladies who helped with the tea’s
and coffee’s in particular Muriel Styles, Winnie
Harford, Lynda MacMorrow, Anna Walsh and Grainne McGrotty.
To
the Barbershop boys who performed for us and who kept
the crowd entertained; to the young helpers on the
day, Leigh Walsh and Eoin Matthews, Claudia Guildea,
Ruth, Anthony and Christine Fenton – thank you
very much.
To
Skerries and Balbriggan Scout Groups and to Skerries
Sailing Club and to Tom MacSweeney, RTE for putting
us on the 9 o’clock news and making our day
– we thank each and every one who helped in
making our day special.
Thank
you
